Slim

An amnesiac, Slim has little to no memory of his life, he's not sure why he was brought back, but he figures there's a reason. At least, he hopes so.

Biography

What is Known

Papyrus awoke in the middle of an ancient, mountain battlefield, covered in a thick blanket of snow. He had no memories of how he died or his life before death, only his name, his god, and his rank as a paladin clear in his mind.

He wandered the ruined grounds, searching for anything that might jog his memories, but nothing helped. Though his shambling did not go unnoticed, and some villagers noticed his shambling form before rushing off.

Salvaging what scraps he could find, he filled whatever gaps there were in the leather of his own armor, hiding himself under a helmet to not arouse suspicion. Though that did not stop the rumors from spreading.

After following them to the village, he was found by a priestess of Gond named Undyne, which tried to banish him but found that she was unable to. Once she finds that he’s not a threat to anyone, she befriends him and takes him to their monastery.

Because of the nature of his existence, she’s the only one in the order to know what he truly is.

Appearance

Papyrus is a 7ft, 30lb skeleton with blazing orange flames for eyes in his sockets, wearing ancient plate mail armor, wielding a large halberd and kite shield. He wares a glamour ring to hide his skeletal features, but it only glamours him from the collarbone up.

Features and Traits

Observant: Quick to notice details of your environment, you gain the following benefits -

• Increase your Intelligence or Wisdom score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
• If you can see a creature's mouth while it is speaking a language you understand, you can interpret what it's saying by reading its lips.
• You have a +5 bonus to your passive Wisdom (Perception) and passive Intelligence (Investigation) scores.

Darkvision: He can see in darkness as if it were dim light, and in dim light as if it were bright light, typically up to a range of 60 feet. Within this range, darkness is treated as shades of gray, not color.

Heavy Armor Master: Prerequisite: Proficiency with heavy armor. You can use your armor to deflect strikes that would kill others. You gain the following benefits -

• Increase your Strength score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
• While you are wearing heavy armor, bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage that you take from nonmagical attacks is reduced by 3.

• This is my 2nd revamp of Slim's origin. Didn't wanna keep anything from the old campaign that he was in, since it was a mess and alot of his character was butchered by shitty people.
